I recently met up with the Davis family at their beautiful home in Kingsport. Their son is graduating from high school this year and I was very glad when they asked me to take some photos of him and their family together before he goes off to college. Greetings from the Big Apple! I have been away visiting New York City and had the privilege to take engagement photos for two good friends of mine. You may remember their proposal story slide show that I created a while back. We had a blast shooting their recent engagement session in NYC! Since this is where these two met several summers ago we saw it fitting to have their engagement session here. After several summers in the city together, Charlotte decided to spend an entire YEAR in NYC, living and serving as part of the New York City Metro Team with Campus Crusade for Christ. She will spend the rest of her time here until the big day on July 25th in Florence, SC. Can't wait!! Thank you to all of you who waited so patiently for your completed photos as my husband and I enjoyed the rest of our vacation in NYC! Joel and Donna Sanders are in the process of adopting their second daughter from China, Lydia Hope. Their first daughter, Eliza, has already brought so much joy to their lives and the lives of others. They have learned from recent adoptive families that the travel costs to China have increased dramatically. Some specific adoption fees have also increased, but the trip expenses have basically doubled from when they traveled in 2004. While they have been saving money for this awesome event in their lives, they need some help.
You are invited to be a part of helping to bring Lydia home! They will be hosting a benefit pancake breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on May 16 at the Texas Roadhouse, located on Stone Drive in Kingsport.
How can you help??? 1-Come and eat a delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and a beverage of your choice for just $5! It will help out with planning if you either buy a ticket in advance or let them know you plan to come. You may email Donna at her email address listed above. Also – on the back of your ticket, you will receive a coupon for a free appetizer at Texas Roadhouse for you to enjoy later. 2-Be a host/hostess or server! If you’re willing to help for a 30 minute shift, let Donna know. 3-Donate some milk or orange juice. Texas Roadhouse does all the cooking and provides all the food, condiments and drinks except milk and orange juice. 4-Tell others about it!! Pass the word along to your family, friends, neighbors, church, etc.
So come enjoy a great meal with even better fellowship as you support a special cause! The family also asks that you pray for a speed up in the adoption process. They know without a doubt that God’s timing is perfect, but their hearts break for the children – including Lydia – waiting in the orphanages in China for a family to call their own.
Joel, Donna, and soon-to-be Big Sister Eliza can’t wait to see you on May 16th
My sister Heather and her friends went to their Senior Prom this weekend. You may remember their FRIENDS Slide show I created to commemorate their Senior Year together. I can't believe they will all be graduating in just a few short weeks! I can't wait for all of these girls to live close by attending the University of Tennessee.
